Life Changes, Return and Refresh

Still here!

I went inactive in 2017 after a previously mentioned health situation, which was nothing to worry about. I'm fine, I was just pregnant haha. Our son Leon was born in December of 2017.

Meet Leon! Or the back of him.

It's been tough, but good. He's a good kid. At first he was just a potato that ate/slept/pooped, but that potato has since turned 1, is slightly more independent, and is in daycare! \o/ I've also returned to work, so relative to the past year I'm left with a bit more of that elusive thing called personal time on my hands. (yay!)

I'd like to think for most people, having a child is the kind of life-changing event that redefines your priorities. At least that was certainly the case for me, so I've been reconsidering a few things in my life including how to handle my creative fulfillment. I've found that my kid is a pretty powerful motivator and source of inspiration to get off my butt to make things. Things that make me think, "hey this might be kind of cool to share!" Except that I don't. I primarily use my personal twitter, but there's just so much detail I'd like to get into, and with twitter being twitter, it's incredibly limiting to where I find myself not bothering to share at all. 

But then I remembered, oh right, I'm paying for a very neglected website.

Which brings me here: Where previously my domain was for showcasing my art & merchandise, I hope to breathe new life into it as an avenue where I can go more in depth and cover topics which better reflect my current activities. That includes parenting, kid related creative projects, travel, food, etc. I’m going to make it a Phi lifestyle blog!

That said, my content will remain centered around art, design and other creative endeavors, so minimal kid photos here if any. I'm protecting Leon’s online privacy until he's old enough to make terrible decisions on his own :) I did make an Instagram @sircheekpouches for friends & family where I post his pics from time to time so if you know me in person, follow if it pleases you!
